• Assassin’s creed coming to the big screen

    One of the most successful game franchises of recent times could very well be branching out and making its way onto the silver screen.

    Variety are reporting that Sony Pictures are closing in on a deal with Ubisoft to develop the Assassin’s Creed movie. This comes as no surprise after Ubisoft set up Ubisoft Motion Pictures back in May and it’s expected that a number of other titles could find their way into cinemas.

  • Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows and Guy Ritchie at Empire’ Big Screen

    To everyone’s surprise, during this mornings showcase Guy Ritchie made an appearance to discuss his upcoming film Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows.

    After a few unseen clips from the upcoming movie Ritchie came out and had a short discussion about the film.

    “We’re close to finishing, I’m mopping up a few details at the moment. We completely wrap in a couple of weeks, but on every film I’ve ever done I always leave at least a week for reshoots.”

  • First Look at A Very Harold And Kumar Christmas

    Any Harold & Kumar fans out there will know that a Harold & Kumar adventure involves mischief, misunderstanding, hilarity and of course getting high. Today a trailer hit the web for the upcoming follow up to the 2008 ‘Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay’ and it doesn’t look like it will dissapoint.

    Returning as the title characters are John Cho as Harold and Kal Penn returning to the role of Kumar after being Associate Director of the White House Office of Public Engagement in the Obama administration.

    Starring along side Cho and Penn is Patton Oswalt (Who will be the first man to smoke weed in 3D!), Danny Trejo, Danneel Ackles and of course Neil Patrick Harris who will be returning from the dead.

    A Very Harold And Kumar Christmas will hit big screens in November of 2011.

  • Official American Reunion Synopsis

    Back in 2003, ‘American Pie: The Wedding’ was the last film of the series which starred all the original cast, since then we have seen 4 straight to dvd films flying the American Pie banner.

    2012 will see ‘American Reunion’ hit the big screen with Alyson Hannigan, Jason Biggs, Seann William Scott, Thomas Ian Nicholas, Shannon Elizabeth, Chris Klein, Tara Reid, Mena Suvari, Eddie Kaye Thomas, Eugene Levy, Jennifer Coolidge and many more of the original cast reprising their roles for their high-school reunion.

    Directed by Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg of Harold & Kumar fame American Reunion will open in April 2012.

  • New Red State Trailer

    Kevin Smith’ first adventure into horror gained a decent amount of media attention when he auctioned off the rights to the movie at the Sundance Film Festival and sold it to himself for $20.

    He announced distribution details which include taking the movie on a tour of America.

    With this new trailer we get a much better look at the film than the original teaser trailer and personally, I can’t wait to see this flick.

    Written and directed by Kevin Smith and starring Michael Parks, Melissa Leo and John Goodman, Red State will be available to a wider audience in September of 2011.

  • Joe Pesci Sues Gotti Producers

    In April it was announced that Academy Award winner Joe Pesci would once again be playing a mobster in the upcoming flick ‘Gotti: In the Shadow of My Father’. Here we are three months on and Joe Pesci is two stone heavier and in a legal battle with the producers.

    Originally Pesci was suppose to be playing Angelo Ruggiero, Righthand man to notorious mob boss John Gotti, alongside Al Pachino who’s starring as Aniello Dellacroce and John Travolta who will be playing John Gotti Sr.

    Pesci claims in his law suit, filed on wednesday in Los Angeles, that he and Fiore Films came to an oral agreement on the role of Angelo Ruggiero for a fee of $3 million for which he broke his healthy diet to put on two stone however it is alleged that Fiore Films only agreed to this to use Pesci’ name a likeness to promote the film.

  • First Dark Knight Rises Trailer

    Filming for The Dark Knight Rises is well underway and today we get our very first glimpse of whats to come. As with any film, We don’t get to see a huge amount in the first trailer but some clearly important plot points are outlined as well as a shot of Bane and the Dark Knight himself!

    Directed by Christopher Nolan and starring Christian Bale, Tom Hardy, Anne Hathaway, Michael Caine and Gary Oldman, The Dark Knight Rises is set for release in July of 2012.

  • First Image from The Dark Knight Rises – Bane!

    The Dark Knight rises, The third instalment from Christopher Nolan’ Batman series, is currently filming in London after appearing in India a couple of weeks ago. A few photos from the set have popped up online but apart from a couple of blurry shots from onlookers, we haven’t yet seen anything official. That is, until today!

    The official web site for the film (http://thedarkknightrises.com) was published today and if you visit it you’re going to get a black screen with an odd chanting noise going on in the background. Odd right? Well someone over at SuperHeroHype managed to get the graphic below out of the audio clip.

  • Cars 2 Theatrical Trailer

    Directed by John Lasseter & Brad Lewis and starring Owen Wilson, Larry the Cable Guy and Michael Caine, Cars 2, The follow up to the highly successful Cars released in 2006, is set to his the big screen June 24th. A theatrical trailer has been released and shows about 2:20 seconds of footage from the movie.

  • Will Smith to Star in Django Unchained?

    Quentin Tarantinos next project, Django Unchained, is a Spaghetti Western set in the Old South following a slave who seeks help from a German bounty hunter to find his wife.

    According to The Hollywood Reporter, Tarantino has is eye set on Will Smith to star as the lead ‘Django’ and as we all know, Tarantino is no stranger to casting some of Hollywoods biggest names. No offer has yet been made but Smith has received the script.

    Samuel L. Jackson, who has worked with Tarantino numerous times in the past on films such as Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill Vol 1 & 2 and Inglorious Basterds to name a few, has already been cast in the film and will be playing a house slave to the bad guy, Monsier Calvin Candie.
